2013 Lovejoy Freshman Football Coaches

Shawn Purcell
Freshman Head Coach

The 2013 football season will mark his 15th year as a Texas High School coach. Coach Purcell was raised in Allen, Texas where he participated in football and track while attending Allen High School. After graduation, Coach Purcell attended Texas A&M University where he was a Cum Laude Graduate. Coach Purcell came to Lovejoy after coaching at Lewisville, McKinney, Corsicana, Wylie, and Richardson, this will be his 3rd season with the Leopards. Coach Purcell is married to Mindy and they have a son Mason (6) and daughter Ashley (4).

Michael Birdwell
Freshman Offensive Coordinator

The 2013 football season will mark his 13th year as a Texas High School coach. Coach Birdwell was raised in North Richland Hills, Texas where he participated in football, basketball, and baseball while attending Richland High School. After graduation, Coach Birdwell attended Howard Payne University where he played football and ran track. Coach Birdwell came to Lovejoy after coaching at Katy, Houston Christian, and Frisco this will be his 2nd season with the Leopards. Coach Birdwell is married to Bethany, they have two children McKinley (11) and Kellan (7).

Brad Fuller
Freshman Defensive Coordinator

The 2013 football season will mark his 17th year as Texas High School coach. Coach Fuller was raised in Bonham, TX where he participated in football, basketball, track, and baseball while attending Bonham High School. After graduation, Coach Fuller attended Southeast Oklahoma University where he played football and ran track, while completing his Bachelor of Business Administration. Coach Fuller came to Lovejoy after coaching at Honey Grove, Carrollton, and Flower Mound, this will be his 7th season with the Leopards. Coach Fuller is married to Sancy and has a five children, Josh (19), Alexis (17), Aaron (15),Lauryn (11) and Avery (7).
